mua pro-base matte satin pressed powder ivory review

Hi my beautiful friends, I hope you all are having a great time, summers are here, and the heat is killing us!! so what is that one beauty product which you cannot do without in summers, mine has to be a good pressed powder. I look for powders that perform well in soaking up the sweat and oil. So one of my friends was in the UK and I asked her to get this MUA pro base  matte satin pressed powder for me from the Superdrug stores. she was kind enough to do the shopping for me, although the shade ivory was mistakenly bought, anyhow let’s get to know the product:

My Experience with MUA pro base matte satin pressed powder:

Packaging: the pressed powder comes in a simple plastic round pan. it is white in color and through the lid, the shade is visible. it doesn’t have a mirror or a sponge which is one downside. the packaging is simple, sturdy and easy to carry around. I have been travelling with this compact for a while now and the lid has not come off which is a good sign.

shade: the shade I got was ivory. I know its not a good match for my skin tone, but this shade was bought mistakenly. you get 8 shades in this so I am sure you will get the shade matched for your skin tone.

texture: the powder is finely milled and feels very soft and buttery to touch. it isn’t like velvet, it does have a powdery feel to it but it isn’t coarse or harsh. it blends nicely into the skin and gives an instant matte finish as it claimed. it is my go to powder in summers, I have at least 4-5 powders but I always reach for this. I think I am about to hit the pan on this. considering the shade is not my match, still it works effectively without making my face cakey or too dry. I have a dry skin but it has not caused any patchiness or dryness on my face. It sets my foundation very well and sets the under eyes beautifully.  Talking about the coverage, it has a sheer coverage, it doesn’t hide away blemishes nor it claims to do that, we need a concealer for that, but at times, when I am in no mood of makeup, I just apply concealer on my problem areas and set it with this powder and I am good to go.

staying power: the powder works well for around 4-5 hours in the sun after which you do need to touch-up. I guess, in more than 45 degrees, this does its job well in keeping my sweat and oils at bay. I don’t get too sweaty or oily if I am not under direct sunlight, so this stays for 7-8 hours easily. though, after 6 hours, my under eyes tend to get little dull but nothing which this powder cannot fix. This is a must have for oily skin people.

pros of the MUA pro-base matte satin pressed powder ivory:

  • matte finish instantly
  • satin finish
  • finely milled powder
  • soft buttery to touch
  • boon for oily skin people
  • doesn’t cause dryness or patchiness
  • works well for dry skin people as well
  • doesn’t clog pores
  • doesn’t cause breakouts
  • stays on for good amount of time

cons of the  MUA pro-base matte satin pressed powder ivory:

  • it contains parabens
  • expensive if bought from India

will ‘theblushcorner’ recommend it?

yes, I will definitely recommend it. It works well for every skin type. I am between NC 34-36 and the shade ivory works fine for me. It doesn’t look white on me, it blends nicely and highlight my under eyes beautifully.
